We will wind our way through Berkeley's Fire Trails to a scenic overlook that's perfect for watching the sunset. If you enjoy gorgeous views that don't take much work to get to, this is the hike for you. Thermoses filled with warm beverages are encouraged to maximize our sunset enjoyment.
This is a short but very hilly trail and is a moderate hike. I have personally done this trail many times and it usually takes about 30-45 minutes to reach the scenic overlook. There is no AllTrails guide for this exact route, although this one runs along some of the same fire trails we will be using: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/california/stonewall-panoramic-trail-to-viewpoint?mobileMap=false&ref=sidebar-static-map&ref=sidebar-view-full-map
Please wear layers as the temperature drops quickly at sunset. Headlamps/flashlights will be needed for the short hike back. This is an excellent place to enjoy a picnic so bring a packed dinner if you like.
Please note: The trail starts at the end of Dwight Way in Berkeley. Parking is street parking on Dwight Way. The address given is meant for navigation purposes only. Do not park in the driveway of this address.
